Our Frequently asked Questions

We are a bulk billing family practice. Simply walk-ins system. Patients can choose the doctor they want to see or the first available doctor.  Emergency cases will have first priority. Longer consultations are available if needed. Please inform the reception beforehand.

General Practice Consultations, Routine Check-ups, Worker’s Compensation, Minor Surgery, Antenatal Care, Pap Smears, Pregnancy Tests, Counselling, Childhood and General Vaccinations, Skin Checks, Baby Clinic, Child Health, Diabetes Testing, Pathology Collection, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Chronic Disease Management Plans, Health Assessments, Medical examinations for Pre-Employments, Driver’s License.

Plenty of parking is available around the building. There is wheelchair access and parking available for patients with disabilities in front or back door of the centre.

Most of our services are bulk-billed under Medicare.  However, there are some services which are not covered by Medicare that will attract a fee. A standard consultation is $85.00 (normal hours) or $95.00 (after hours) for a new patient without a current valid Medicare card. Fees for Medical Examinations and Pre-Employments $220-$250.  The reception staff will advise you of the fees beforehand. 

Whilst the Practice doctors and staffs are multilingual, if you require a translation and interpreting service, please inform the receptionist immediately. If you wish to arrange an interpreter before your next appointment, please call 131450 (TIS).

Doctors in the practice may be contacted during normal surgery hours. If the doctor is with a patient a message will be taken and you will be advised by the receptionist when it is likely that the doctor will return your call. Your call will always be put through to the doctor in an emergency.

Practice does not communicate with the patient via email regards to their health or their family member’s health matter. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL THESE DETAILS TO THE PRACTICE. Practice is not on social media.

Home visits are available for regular patients of the Practice living within 2km in exceptional cases only and are subject to the Doctor’s availability. Please call early in the day so a visit can be organized. A standard fee $150.00 applies. Home visit times are normally between 1:00pm to 2:00pm. Patients need to contact the Practice early in the morning to organise an appointment. Further, patients have access to our after hour deputizing service with Sydney Medical Co-Operative by calling 87246300 (also The Practice’s recorded message has these details). If it is an emergency, please dial 000 or go immediately to Emergency Department at Liverpool Hospital, Goulburn Street Liverpool NSW 2170.

All health records are confidential and are securely stored electronically with password out of public reach.  Your personal information may be disclosed to other health professionals such as allied health providers and specialists for your continuity of care. Any other third parties requesting health information is required to provide the Practice with a written consent from the patient. You may access your health record with your doctor as a consultation or you may request a copy where an administration fee of $55 will apply. Copies of documents will only be released on provision of identification. All original medical records belong to the practice. If you would like a copy of our privacy statement, please ask the receptionist for one.

Further, the Practice is participating in the My Health Record uploads and My Medicare, thus if you wish to opt- out, you can do so by going into your MyGov account to cancel or call Help line on 1800 723 471.

Patients are encouraged to return to the surgery to discuss their results (pathology, scans, etc) particularly if the treating doctor has requested them to do so.  Even if initial tests are normal, further testing or treatment may still be required.  However, should there be any abnormality with the results, the receptionist will contact the patient via SMS, telephone or registered mail. Please let the reception staff know promptly if you change your phone number or address to facilitate a more efficient recall system.  For Preventive promotion, all patients of the Practice will automatically be on our national/state/local reminder/recall system for pathology results and health promotion.  If you do not want to be on any of these reminder systems, please let us know so that we can take your name off the system.

We are constantly striving to provide/ improve on the quality of health care deliverance for our patients. If you have any comments, suggestions or complaints, we like to hear them. Please feel free to talk to the doctors or Practice Manager. There is a suggestion box for your feedback if you prefer to write to us. All concerns, suggestions and complaints are taken seriously and will be assessed/ addressed in a timely manner. If you feel that you need to take the matter further and wish to discuss the matter outside the surgery, there are several options available eg NSW Medical Board (Ph: 9879 2200) or Health Care Complaint Commission (Ph:1800 043 159) or Australian Commission on Safety & Quality in Health Care (Ph: 9263 3633).
